Measure your space first

Before anything else, measure the width, depth and height of the space you have, including door clearance for opening it fully and any tight turns on the way in. It is easy to fall in love with a model online and find it will not fit through the kitchen doorway.

Capacity and household size

Think about how many people you are shopping and cooking for, and how often you shop. A smaller two-door fridge freezer suits a couple or a compact kitchen, while a larger double-door model or a dedicated upright freezer works better for a bigger household or anyone who likes to batch-cook and freeze meals.

Fridge freezer or separate freezer?

A combined fridge freezer is the most space-efficient choice for most kitchens. If you already have a fridge you are happy with, or you need extra frozen storage for a large family, a dedicated upright freezer alongside it can be a better fit.
